Mobile Deposit For Two States Only?
Really. You update the app and say it has mobile deposit but only for two states? Get with the times. This app is clumsy and ugly and should have had mobile deposit for 50 states two years ago.
This is an example of how NOT to create an iPhone app.
First all, it is not a native app, unable to take advantage of iOS 5.1 features.
Let’s look at a few the problems now.
(1) The account screen limits you to 5 accounts per page. Why limit us to 5 only? The intent of a table is to list all possible entries and allow the user to scroll down the table. This is a poor example of a UITableView implementation.
(2) Why don’t my existing nick names appear in the table? Why do I have to re-label all of my accounts once for the desktop web and once for this poor example of an iOS app? Why does the UIWebView scroll below the “*Balance Information” hyperlink? Again, this is a poor example of an iPhone app and a great example of a poorly designed user interface.
(3) On the account details page, why are there no column titles for the UITableView. Why does it display pages, and not continuing to refresh the table as I scroll down? Yet another example of a poorly developed iPhone app and a great example of a poorly designed user interface.
(4) When the Menu appears, it and allow me to scroll beyond the actual menu? Why? The menu should flip to a new View and flip back when I press Back. Yet another example of a poorly developed iPhone app and a great example of a poorly designed user interface.
(5) Why does the UITitleBar scroll off the screen? It SHOULD NEVER scroll off the screen.
Wells Fargo has not following the prescriptive architecture found in Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines. In fact they have done everything possible to reject the document and give their customers one of the worst possible mobile experiences of all time.
Wells Fargo puts a lot of effort in their ATM user experience and user interface, however they have failed for the fourth time to bring that same level of “Wow” to their iPhone app.
Without a doubt, I can claim that this is a great example of what NOT to do when you build an iPhone app.
Getting Better
Update: there have been improvements in this app to make me raise the stars from 3 to 4...but I would still like to see the ability to transfer funds from my accounts into my mortgage through WF. That's a better enhancement in my opinion than the "friend pay" feature I may use once a year. The mortgage option I would use once a month!
Not a bad app but I agree with an earlier review in the fact that WF has plenty of capital to come up with a better app than this.
Two improvements I would like to see are Bill Pay and the ability to transfer funds from checking/savings to my mortgage in order to pay my mortgage bill.
