Nice Design, Flaws Abound
The design an interface is nice, but several issues make the app hard to use.
First, you should be able to locate a place on a map without dropping a pin (entering an address should place a pin on the map at that address). It's really tedious and difficult to add a place to the map of the only way to do so is to scroll manually until you find the desired location.
Second, you should be able to add multiple photos when you add a new spot (instead of just one photo).
Also, there does not seem to be much data for my currently location. I don't know whether there is in fact very little data or whether it's because I haven't loaded the right guides or experts or however the app seems to group content providers....
Crashes a lot, outdated and limited content
Just tried using the app after letting it update for several versions to see if it had improved. Not really. First, the tech flaws: unstable, 5 crashes in 5 minutes, scrolling through suggestions doesn't work when in motion as distances and proximity-baed list ordering keeps resetting. Second, the content issues: of the first restaurants listed for the major California city I'm in, 5 had been closed for a long time, 3 were so-so, 2 were good, but nothing that had opened in the past 2-3 years was even included. Most of this app's content seems taken from print publications that are quite outdated. The experts you can follow for recommendations are mostly in London, SF and NYC. What about everywhere else? Just not enough good advice and info in this app -- and what is there is hard to access because of the UI design.
