Whiteboard makes it easy to visualize ideas by providing the ideal environment for writing notes, sketching charts and recording brainstorming sessions. You can make freeform drawings with the drag of a finger, and easily add pre-made shapes and lines with familiar tap, pinch, and drag multi-touch gesture controls. There are grid or lined backgrounds, and you can import any image or diagram from the iPad photo library. Labels and text boxes can even be dynamically placed, sized and oriented to complement any image!
Collaboration on preliminary sketches, group brainstorming and student projects are all perfect uses for Whiteboard. You can even share ideas through external monitors or projectors in multiple aspect ratios when used with the iPad VGA adapter. At the end of class or a meeting, it’s easy to save and bookmark notes, images and diagrams in the apps project manager, then send out a copy of the groups work via email.

A Top Ten Productivity App
I have always found whiteboards to be an effective thinking and presenting tool. Now that I can have the same functionality on the iPad, I hardly ever use "real" whiteboards now. By using the a VGA adaptor, I can give quick presentations and use it in brainstorming sessions on "the big screen." Another wonderful feature is the facility to export as PDF and mail boards. Instead of either transcribing a day's worth of paper flip charts or photos of whiteboards, I just mail them to the team! Such a time saver and at such a low cost!
So why not 5 stars? Well, sometimes it will crash unexpectedly although not enough to bother me, and I would like just ONE feature - the ability to link directly from one board to another without going back to the "My Boards" desktop. If you could assign a "Link to page..." it could be used as a slick presentation software. Otherwise, I recommend this as a Top 10 "must have" for anyone who does creative and presentation work. And yes, I'd have paid $9.99 for this ;)
Postscript: I gave a 4 STAR rating but it originally showed up as only 1. That's an iTunes glitch. I rate it 4 STARS.
Has potential rough edges
Basic concept is good. Implementation has rough edges. Online help doesn't explain a lot of the features, which only become apparent by messing around. Lots of little frustrations like editing text to to change size or color doesn't stick. Crashes randomly. I hope they keep working at it because it's cool concept.
Very Useful - more than just "doodling"
One of the most used apps on my iPad. I'm constantly writing and sketching ideas that pop into my head, normally on napkins. This is the ultimate collaborative and always-available "napkin" that allows me to quickly input ideas into my iPad and share by email or store using Dropbox! Love it!
