Description
xSensor by Crossbow Technology, Inc. displays a real-time graph of your device's accelerometer and magnetometer sensor data. This data can be logged to a file and emailed as text for further analysis. GPS data is also displayed, including all accuracy and derived parameters made available by the iPhone.
Crossbow's xSensor is great for physics experiments on anything that moves! Take it on a roller coaster and observe the forces at work. Walk around outside to see how the magnetic field changes with orientation and location.
Are you writing your own iPhone app that will use the iPhone sensors? Use xSensor to evaluate and analyze the sensor data from the iPhone.
Note
The data log is limited to 5KB in this free version. Buy Crossbow's xSensor Pro to remove this restriction. iPhone 3GS is required for magnetometer data. iPhone 3G or better is required for GPS data. GPS data is displayed in the application but is not logged.
What's New in Version 1.1
* GPS position and altitude data have been added to the log file.
* On iPhone 4, gyro and attitude data from Apple's CoreMotion API are now graphed and logged.
* iOS 4 users noted a change to Apple's magnetometer behavior that caused the graph to only update while the phone was in motion. This has been fixed by continuing to update the graph with the last known magnetometer data. Note that iOS4 generally no longer returns magnetometer data unless the phone is in motion, thus the data will be repeated (flat-lined) until iOS4 returns new data.
