Biography

Born on July 13, 1956, in Valley Stream, NY, Billy Falcon grew up in Rosedale, NY. Between 1978 and 1988, Falcon released a handful of albums on several different labels, including 1979's Improper Attire on United Artists and 1985's Billy and Myla on Columbia. Jon Bon Jovi, who had been a fan and remembered Falcon as a club draw in New Jersey, contacted Falcon about working together. Falcon signed a record deal with Mercury and Jon Bon Jovi helped produce the album Pretty Blue World, released in 1991. Despite musical contributions from Bon Jovi, Aldo Nova, Heartbreaker Benmont Tench, and Kenny Aronoff, as well as positive reviews, it only sold modestly. However, the optimistic "Power Windows" reached the Top 20 on the AOR charts and generated enough attention to cross into the pop Top 40 as well. Falcon had another small hit when "Sometimes It's a Bitch," another song that he and Jon Bon Jovi had written, was released as a single from the Stevie Nicks compilation Timespace. In addition, he played at the fifth Farm Aid held in March 1992. Letters From a Paper Ship followed in 1994, but it too failed to break Falcon to a wider audience. His recording output would cease, although he continued to play live (having relocated to Nashville) and co-wrote several songs for Bon Jovi's 2001 mega-selling Crush. In 2002, his daughter Rose Falcon released her debut, Breakable, which featured production by Billy Falcon and ten songs co-written by the two.
