Blind Society

Frustrated by the punk-pop scene that had taken over alternative radio by 1996, New Jersey natives Blind Society formed around the idea that hardcore punk was a more sincere genre. They began playing DIY-style shows and developed a reputation as a fun bunch in concert, something that helped them when Outsider Records expressed interested in releasing their first album. After releasing Our Future is Looking Bleak in 2000, the group played their first US tour with the Vigilantes. Contrary to Popular Belief came out two years later and further established the band as a force in the hardcore punk underground.
