Biography

Cuban singer/songwriter David Alvarez started experimenting with traditional music after attending percussion and guitar classes in his homeland. His live debut came while touring Cuba with local artists and playing their own songs to the nueva trova followers, a style also known as nueva canción (new song). After singing with Pedro Luis Ferrer, David Alvarez joined a group of young musicians and assembled a band called Juego de Manos, making their debut with the release of Mundo Loco.
