Biography
The Devotionals are essentially the solo side project of Two Gallants member Tyson Vogel. Formed in San Francisco in 2002, Two Gallants specialized in a kind of ragged, indie folk-rock, and released a debut album, The Throes, in 2004 on Alive Records, following it with a pair of albums for Saddle Creek Records, 2006’s What the Toll Tells and 2007’s self-titled Two Gallants, as well as the acoustic EP Scenery of Farewell. With the Devotionals, Vogel works pretty much the same sort of territory, this time with the help of violinist Anton Patzner and percussionist Jeff Blair. A debut album, the self-titled Devotionals, was released by Alive Records in 2010.
