Indie duo Flora Cash combine folk and pop influences, pairing electronic beats with soaring vocals on songs with a melancholy feel. • Members Shpresa Lleshaj and Cole Randall first met on the internet in 2012, when Lleshaj began posting comments on Randall’s songs online. Their musical collaboration started after she traveled from Stockholm, Sweden, to Minneapolis to see him in person. Now based in Stockholm, the pair married in 2013. • Though Flora Cash began releasing music in 2013, their breakthrough came when the duo’s 2018 single “You’re Somebody Else” appeared in a viral advertising campaign in Mexico before climbing the rock charts in the U.S. and Canada and landing Flora Cash a record deal with RCA. • Several of Flora Cash’s songs have appeared in TV shows: “You’re Somebody Else” has shown up in the U.S. dramas The Good Doctor and Locke & Key, as well as the German web drama Druck, while “And Ever” was part of the 2019 miniseries adaptation of Four Weddings and a Funeral. • Lleshaj, an ethnic Albanian, moved to Sweden as a child when her parents fled unrest in their native Kosovo.
