About Frank Turner

Before launching a solo career, English folk-punk Frank Turner was an Eton-educated metalhead who played in punk bands Kneejerk and Million Dead. ∙ Turner’s 2011 LP, England Keep My Bones, was his first major success, going Gold and reaching No. 12 on the UK charts. ∙ All his studio albums have cracked the UK Top 5, starting with 2013’s Tape Deck Heart—the first Turner LP recorded outside his home country. ∙ Known for his constant touring, he has played more than 2,500 shows and set a record in 2016 by performing at the Reading Festival for the 10th year in a row. ∙ In 2017, he launched his own annual festival, Lost Evenings, which won Best Independent Festival honors at that year’s AIM Independent Music Awards. ∙ Turner has written two books about his life, music, and career: The Road Beneath My Feet (2015) and Try This At Home: Adventures in Songwriting (2019). ∙ West Coast vs. Wessex, a split album between NOFX and Turner, was released in 2020 and featured each act covering five of the other’s songs.
