About Fuel

The rock band Fuel started out as Reel Too Real, a covers group playing bars and clubs in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. ∙ Fuel’s guitarist Carl Bell and bassist Jeff Abercrombie were childhood friends who first jammed together in junior high school. ∙ “Shimmer,” the band’s debut single produced by Steven Haigler (Pixies, Throwing Muses, Local H), rose to No. 42 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. ∙ Their double-Platinum breakthrough album, 2000’s Something Like Human, was reissued with their covers of Elton John’s “Daniel” and Led Zeppelin’s “Going to California.” ∙ “Hemorrhage (In My Hands),” which was later covered by singer Daughtry on American Idol, is ranked by Billboard as the No. 5 rock song of the 2000s. ∙ Hit Parader included Fuel singer Brett Scallions on its list of the Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists.
