About Joe Nichols

Country singer Joe Nichols was discovered by songwriter/producer Randy Edwards, who overheard the then-mechanic singing along to the shop radio while working on Edwards’ car. ∙ The uplifting single “The Impossible” was his breakthrough hit, placing at No. 10 on 2002’s year-end Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. ∙ Nichols’ second LP, 2002’s Man With a Memory, sold more than 1 million copies and received a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album. ∙ His 2006 hit “I’ll Wait for You” was cowritten by country legend Bill Anderson, whose songs have been recorded by Ray Price, Porter Wagoner, Brenda Lee, and Conway Twitty. ∙ Dolly Parton tapped him to record a duet of Tim Hardin’s “If I Were a Carpenter” for her 2005 covers album, Those Were the Days. ∙ He has landed eight straight Top 20 releases on Billboard’s Country Albums chart, including 2017’s Never Gets Old, which reached No. 15.
