Luther Russell

Luther Russell had been active with both Ferdale and the Freewheelers for years, but in 1999 he recorded the funky, soulful Down At Kit's to announce the new stage of his career. In 2000 he came back with a nice bit of sunshine pop, the cheery and lush Lowdown World. Priding himself in his lack of overdubs and studio tricks, Russell released Spare Change the next year and again drove his career into another direction that was more about acoustic blues than anything he had done before.
