About Method Man

Rapper Method Man rose to prominence as a member of the seminal ’90s hip-hop crew the Wu-Tang Clan before launching a successful solo career and branching off into film and television. • Method Man split his childhood between his father’s home in Hempstead, Long Island, and his mother’s in Staten Island. • He was a star lacrosse player at Hempstead High School and remains an avid fan of the sport. • After helming a solo track, “Method Man,” on Wu-Tang’s groundbreaking 1993 debut, Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), Method Man became the first group member to release a solo album. Blige won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance By a Duo or Group for their duet “I’ll Be There For You/You’re All I Need To Get By.” • Method Man formed a longstanding partnership with New Jersey rapper Redman.
