About Osborne

Sometimes described as a “house music’s MacGyver,” Ypsilanti, Michigan-based producer/DJ Todd Osborn certainly shares some of the TV secret agent’s jury-rigging tendencies. When he’s not involved in diversions focused on his passion for electrical engineering--building homemade computers and hovercrafts--he manages to find time to be one of the linchpins of a burgeoning electronic music scene based in Ann Arbor and centered on the Ghostly International label. Following an equally promiscuous path in his music making, Osborn first gained notoriety in the U.K. for his ragga jungle-styled productions as Soundmurderer and SK-1 (with partner Tadd Mullinix). He made smaller waves with his ghetto-tech collaboration with Brian Gillespie, Starski & Clutch, but resurfaced as a solo act for his self-titled full-length debut as “Osborne,” an exuberant ode to house and techno of yore that was one of 2008’s critically adored electronic music albums.
