R&B vocalist Peter Hadar (born Peter Winstead Jr.) grew up in a supportive Newark, New Jersey household. The son of a gospel musician, Hadar was naturally drawn to music but opted to enter the fashion world as a stylist and salesman. After he lost a job, he redirected his creative energy toward music. He wrote and recorded his debut, Memories of the Heart, and self-released it in August 2006. It introduced his husky but sensitive voice, somewhere between those of Jaheim and the Foreign Exchange's Phonte, along with his slight left-field twist on adult contemporary R&B. ~ Andy Kellman
