Sometree

Sometree has come a long way from its beginnings, playing Metallica covers and making cassette demos in the mid-'90s. Formed in 1994 in Hanover, Germany, Sometree settled on its current lineup in 1996. Half a world away from the American indie rock scene, Sometree wanted so badly to make its mark on that scene that it financed and produced its own debut CD, Hazel, in 1996, followed by Clever, Clever, Where Is Your Heart? The band's self-reflective, layered sound drew attention of labels Smith & Nephews Company and Magic Bullet Theory. After touring and releasing a split 7" with Pop Unknown, Sometree finally released Clever, Clever... in the U.S. in 2000. Sold Heart to the One followed in 2001.
