About Striker

A fiery, no-frills Canadian heavy metal unit based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Striker deliver a lethal and unapologetic blend of '80s-style hard rock and vintage NWOBHM that evokes contemporaries like Enforcer, Holy Grail, and Cauldron. Founded in 2007, the band's demo caught the attention of German label Iron Kodex, who released the group's debut EP, Road Warrior, in 2009. Striker's full-length debut, Eyes in the Night, arrived the following year, and they spent the ensuing years touring heavily both at home and abroad. In 2012, Striker inked a deal with Napalm Records and released their sophomore long-player, Armed to the Teeth, produced by Michael Wagener (Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Skid Row). The critically acclaimed, Frederik Nordstrom-produced City of Gold dropped in 2014, followed by a furious bout of touring that saw the group making multiple festival stops. Working once again with Frederik Nordstrom, the band released its eponymous fourth full-length effort via its own Record Breaking label in 2017. ~ James Christopher Monger
