Visigoth

About Visigoth

Named for a particularly violent branch of the nomadic Germanic Goths who helped bring about the fall of Rome during the Roman Empire's decline in the late fourth century, Salt Lake City, Utah's Visigoth specialize in skillfully crafted, fantasy-driven power metal that brings to mind bands like Manowar, Judas Priest, Dio, and Iron Maiden. Founded in 2010, the quintet, which includes vocalist Jake Rogers, lead guitar player Leeland Campana, guitarist Jamison Palmer, bass player Matt Brotherton, and drummer Mikey Tee, issued their debut EP, The Final Spell, in 2012, which ultimately led to a record deal with Metal Blade, which released the group's debut long-player, Revenant King, in early 2015. Conquerer's Oath, the band's hard-hitting sophomore effort, followed in eary 2018. ~ James Christopher Monger
