Publisher Description

"Hello, Nano" takes kids on a rollicking ride through the world of the very tiny – where technology can be only a few atoms wide. The author marshals photos, videos, animation and a spunky character named Nano on a tour of his world. And this Nano is no teddy bear. Even though he tries to improve our lives with advanced electronics and other innovations, he can also zap a tumor cell with all the panache of a super-villain who had a bad night’s sleep.

About The Author

The author decided from the start to produce a fun, informative book that translated complex science into something a bit easier to understand. He decided to use straightforward language that can be understood by both native speakers and non-native speakers. He reasoned that because nanotechnology is so important, that people worldwide should have the opportunity to acquire a basic understanding of it.

Moon Kim teaches materials science and engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas, where he is a professor and director of the university’s Nano-Characterization Facility. He is also an adjunct professor at the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center in Dallas.
He spends much of his time exploring new applications for nanotechnology, but he also believes in the importance of providing young people with fun, hands-on opportunities to learn about the thrill of scientific discovery.
