Coupling Love is … is Anthony Gongora’s first digital painting collection. All of the paintings were created on the iPad using the Inspire Pro application. Coupling is an intimate portrait of the unfolding of love between two men. The paintings are colorful swirls, scribbles, dashes and dots layered with body-moving-towards-body in acts of love, affection and passion. The depiction of sex within Coupling is tender erotica and is intended to challenge the viewer to see beyond his/her personal perceptions regarding intimacy and specifically the act of making love.

wonderful work!
Anthony is quite simply an exquisite artist. No matter what form his work takes - live art or static art - he infuses it with love and truth and beauty and curiosity. His digital works have a lusciousness that I haven’t seen before. The images jump off the screen and engulf you. He is a humanist and a dreamer who tells wonderfully imagistic stories!

Coupling looks at intimacy and partnership in a way that is approachable to everyone. It is endlessly interesting with many different layers in each work. This collection shows the similarities in how all people aproach and long for connection and includes a mixture of different realizations of these ideas in a way that is both highly political and completely human.

Anthony is my favorite artist. He takes his incredible artistic gift using digital painting to express the simple but ultimately complex feelings of love and intimacy in an age when gay relationships, marrage, erotica and activism are hot political topics but are really just about being to able to live and love. It is beautiful and whimsical in a way that can only come from his heart. I love it.
