As good as a Western, the quick read and suspenseful and informative kind, can be or get. Elmore doesn’t waste your time and gives you more than you paid back in entertainment.

Quick, well written western read
Good example of the early work of Elmer Leonard. Quiet, tough loner with a past finds himself in a bad situation with the odds against him. Enjoyable as a simple western or as an example of crisp, clean American writing in the Hemingway tradition.
