Publisher Description
A rollicking and poignant romantic comedy about a young widow who decides to get in shape...and winds up getting her groove back—and a whole lot more!
Holly Brennan used food to comfort herself through her husband’s illness and death. Now she’s alone at age thirty-two. And she weighs more than she ever has. When fate throws her in the path of Logan Montgomery, personal trainer to pro athletes, and he offers to train her, Holly concludes it must be a sign. Much as she dreads the thought of working out, Holly knows she needs to put on her big girl panties and see if she can sweat out some of her grief.
Soon, the easy intimacy and playful banter of their training sessions lead Logan and Holly to most intense and steamy workouts. But can Holly and Logan go the distance as a couple now that she’s met her goals—and other men are noticing?
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
We never thought a heroine’s weight loss journey could make for such a sweet and sexy read. Widowed at a young age, Holly’s been eating her way through grief, and she’s a mess, both emotionally and physically. After accepting a flirty invitation from a cute personal trainer named Logan, Holly discovers that her real challenge isn’t burning calories, but breaking down the walls she’s built up. We adored the way Stephanie Evanovich sensitively builds the romantic tension between her two main characters. She lets them grow as people, with Holly overcoming the sadness her weight gain represents and Logan confronting the insecurities that make him so hyper-focused on physical perfection. We were rooting for Holly and Logan to figure it all out in time for their burning connection to pay off. Big Girl Panties is a fun and feel-good book.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Evanovich's incredibly entertaining debut mesmerizes with wit, heart, and intelligence as a spirited large woman breaks out of her shell in a thin-obsessed world. Holly Brennan, widowed at 32, is worn out after months of caring for her dying husband and seeking consolation in food. She surprises herself by saying yes when personal trainer Logan Montgomery, a Greek-god lookalike, offers to help her break some bad habits. Logan is impressed by Holly's spunk (and embarrassed by his initial inclination to sneer at "the fat chick"), and he sees their partnership as a win-win situation: Holly will get back into the game of her own life, and he will enjoy watching her transformation. Shedding pounds and emotional baggage, Holly begins hanging out with Logan's image-conscious friends, but the commitment-phobic trainer turns surly when others find her attractive. An explosive sexual encounter confirms their chemistry and budding love, but an intentional misspoken word and a party prank force both to confront their last barrier to happiness. Quality writing, memorable characters, hot sex scenes, and an emotionally satisfying story add up to a marvelous gem.

fun read
a cute love story that keeps you on your toes
A thank you from a plus size woman
Finally a book I feel like I could be the main character in. Being a plus size, 30 year old woman myself, I connected with some of the same feelings Holly felt about herself. The line about “she may never be a single digit size” made my heart happy. There is so much truth in the fact that some ladies may never be in the single digits. That’s okay! It has taken me forever to realize that even when I put working out as a priority like Holly. Thank you for writing this book!
Meh
I predicted the outcome of this book chapter 1. It was a decent read on vacation.
