Interesting and Well Written

Like the first book in this series this book can be read as a stand-alone. Although there are tie-ins and overlap, you don’t need to have read the previous book in order to enjoy this one. This book kept my attention throughout with numerous interesting plot lines. No warfare like the first book, but still plenty of action. Recommended.

Left me cold

Somehow, not as compelling or good as Aryan's first book. The writing is fine but something is missing that the first had in spades. Couldn't get into it and felt no desire to finish. May try another read in a few months and will rewrite review if another try grabs me in a way the first did not.

Meh

This book took everything that was good about the first book and threw it out the window. It removed most of the amazing and relatable characters and instead added generic cookie cutter characters that are just boring.

Instead of focusing on the characters that were introduced in the first book that people cared about, the author tries to add more and just clutters up everything.

Extremely disappointing.
