"An immense achievement, an impeccably crafted book without a single word out of place." —The New York Times
From bestselling author M. R. Carey comes a brilliant genre-defying story of humanity's expansion across millions of dimensions—and the AI technology that might see it all come to an end.
INFINITY IS ONLY THE BEGINNING.
The Pandominion: a political and trading alliance of a million worlds. Except that they’re really just one world, Earth, in many different realities. And when an A.I. threat arises that could destroy everything the Pandominion has built, they’ll eradicate it by whatever means necessary.
Scientist Hadiz Tambuwal is looking for a solution to her own Earth’s environmental collapse when she stumbles across the secret of inter-dimensional travel, a secret that could save everyone on her dying planet. It leads her into the middle of a war on a scale she never dreamed of. And she needs to choose a side before every reality pays the price.
“A fascinating window onto a dangerous and multifaceted universe.” —Adrian Tchaikovsky, author of Children of Time
"A genuine treat for SF fans: an epic multiverse tale that moves like a thriller." —Kirkus (starred review)
"Readers will be wowed." —Publishers Weekly (starred review)
"Infinity Gate, with its in-depth science and rich characterization, is a must-read." —Booklist (starred review)
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Get ready for a multiverse adventure with an awesome and fresh perspective. In the world of Infinity Gate, the many parallel universes are all ruled by an authority called the Pandominion, who control the power to travel between these worlds. But when a physicist learns how to do it herself, her fate collides with a hustler, a schoolgirl, a disgruntled bureaucrat, and a burned-out soldier—not to mention a newly discovered universe that’s entirely run by sentient machines. On top of a rip-roaring plot full of great characters, Infinity Gate gave us plenty of deep questions to chew on: What does it really mean to be alive? Can one person make a difference in a vast multiverse of possibilities? If you like smart and heartfelt science fiction, you’ll love Infinity Gate.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Carey (The Girl with All the Gifts) posits that the depletion of earth's resources might be avoidable by raiding the "universe next door"—unless the neighbors complain loudly as they do in this brilliant dimension-hopping sci-fi thriller and Pandominion series launch. Hadiz Tambuwal, a scientist on a crash program to stave off Earth's looming ecological collapse, discovers a gateway to alternate Earths that lack people, but offer clean air and water. Unfortunately, her explorations attract the attention of the Pandominion, a collective of Earth-hopping beings (not all of them human) who fear incursions from "Unvisited" dimensions and are enmeshed in a war with the Ansurrection, a unity of AI-driven robotic beings. Carey skillfully explores the moral complications of machine personhood as brilliant schoolgirl Topaz Tourmaline FiveHills befriends an Ansurrection infiltrator that seeks individuality, and Hadiz perfects her world-hopping device with help from Rupshe, an experimental AI. The stark choices of war or peace and environmental health or disaster are unsettlingly close to current-day issues, making this cosmos-spanning work a timely plea for planetary sanity. Readers will be wowed.

Incredibly fun and thought provoking
I’m not finished reading it yet but i had to stop and write a quick review about how much i’m enjoying this book! It’s one of the most fun sci-fi stories i’ve read in a long time. It really has it all; an interesting and relevant technological premise, vivid and creative world-building, memorable characters, and lots of exciting situations and challenges for the characters to deal with, and tons of surprises. I don’t want this story to end!
Highly recommended.
