Publisher Description
Inspiring, profound, intimate, and moving, this updated edition of the classic self-help book brings solace, hope, and advice to anyone who has suffered loss.
Everyone experiences grief, but few books offer real help with the debilitating emotions of bereavement. Now, an internationally respected authority on personal change maps the terrain between life as it was and life as it can be. Readers can move at their own pace through the seven distinct phases of loss and can work towards a stronger, more balanced self. The author's own story of the loss of a young husband, combined with the tales of dozens of individuals, and the most recent research on coping with loss, helps readers to become happier, healthier, and wiser beings.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Many readers will rightly welcome psychologist's Neeld's seven-stage, step-by-step guide to mourning and recovery, accompanied by a description of phases necessary to complete the ``grieving process.'' Based on the author's own experience and that of 60 others, the program requires the mourner to knowingly choose to undergo each stage as it occurs. The book also discusses with compassion physical and emotional traumas to expect and offers sound advice on how to adjust to change and form new life patterns and human bonds. 35,000 first printing; $35,000 ad/promo; author tour.

This book is not only insightful, it is real. You come to terms with loss, pain and feeling as if life is dark. The wording of the book is easy to read and it is direct. No playing around. It is clear the author is writing from experience and can CONNECT to the reality of others. She takes you through the steps of healing to living again.
This is by far one of the best books I've read on the subject. You cannot go wrong reading this book. I very much recommend this book for anyone hurting from loss. It is a gem.
