Publisher Description
New York Times bestselling novelist Darren Shan presents the final book in his The City series.
For ten years Capac Raimi has ruled the City. Created by the first Cardinal to continue his legacy, Capac cannot be killed.
Then Capac disappears. His trusted lieutenant, Ford Tasso, suspects the mysterious villacs, ancient and powerful Incan priests. To Ford, only one man has the cunning to outwit such adversaries-Al Jeery, who has taken the guise of his father, the terrifying assassin Paucar Wami.
Al has no love for Capac and no wish to tangle with the villacs. Until Ford promises him the one thing he truly craves-retribution against the man who killed those he loved most and destroyed his life. Lured into the twisted, nightmarish world of the Incan priests, Al will learn more about the City than he ever imagined, and be offered more power than he ever desired.
But in the City, everything comes at a cost...
Customer Reviews
A fantastic end to Shan's original series.
First off, this is definitely Al Jerry's story. The entire thing. Capac is a major player in it, but Al is center stage for it all. If you enjoyed the other two books (or really just Hell's Horizon) then this should satisfy you. A very fitting end that, in true Shan fashion, continues an expands on the mythology built up so far. New wrinkles are introduced in the very last chapter (epilogue not included) that fit perfectly with everything else. Not everything is answered, but not everything should be. Just like real life. But there is no craving for what happens next. This is the end, and it's a very solid ending.
Great book
Great book from start to finish. If you read the first two books, then this installment will not disappoint.
Sounds good
Looks like a good book I'm a Darren Shan fan
