Atkins artfully alternates between that pursuit and Colson's search for the people he believes slaughtered Byrd. The diverse cast of characters and their intricate relationships elevate this above most other gritty crime novels. Atkins is writing at the top of his game.

Great story and plot line Hands down a great Read!!!!
Terrible
I’ve never read this author and I figure he must be good given all the best sellers he has and maybe this one is just a clunker. Repetitive story that went no where with characters that were difficult to care about. Boring.
Language and dialect get a little old
After a few books the language get old and less entertaining. Seem the author is working too hard to make it colorful and entertaining
