Publisher Description
Cassie Palmer can see the future, talk to ghosts, and travel through time—but nothing’s prepared her for this.
Ever since being stuck with the job of pythia, the chief seer of the supernatural world, Cassie Palmer has been playing catch up. Catch up to the lifetime's worth of training she missed being raised by a psychotic vampire instead of at the fabled pythian court. Catch up to the powerful, and sometimes seductive, forces trying to mold her to their will. It's been a trial by fire that has left her more than a little burned.
But now she realizes that all that was the just the warm up for the real race. Ancient forces that once terrorized the world are trying to return, and Cassie is the only one who can stop them...
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Chance's fun eighth Cassie Palmer urban fantasy novel picks up where Reap the Wind left off. Cassie Palmer, aka the hapless seer Pythia, is still trying to find (and save) her friend John Pritkin (who's the son of a demon) and she has a lot of other things on her plate. Time hopping takes a lot out of a person, and the universe seems to be out to get her. She contemplates an opportunity to explore her attraction to Pritkin while learning some painful secrets from her past. Additionally, reporters are trying to blackmail Cassie into telling her story; there are rampaging origami animals in the casino where she lives; a war mage decides to hold her acolyte, Rhea Silvanus, hostage; and there are pitched battles right out of the Middle Ages. It's all a bit exhausting to keep up with, but Chance's imagination knows no bounds, and fans will find a lot to love in her blend of epic action with private drama. Correction: An earlier version of this review incorrectly stated the book's series number.

Quite a ride
Ride the Storm is a fast paced action packed story that has many twists and turns that will leave you glued to the story. The characters are likable. The storyline is interesting and entertaining. Looking for to the next release.
Gobsmacked, in a good way
I just finished Ride the Storm and I feel gobsmacked. Or maybe god-smacked. So much happened. Cassie is still trying to save Pritkin. And the world. Both in her own time and at Arthur’s Court in Camelot. She’s still being assisted by Rosier and dodging past Pythias. And Billy Joe finally earns his keep!
Some new characters are introduced and Cassie receives help from some unexpected sources. There are too many battles to even list. Mircea shows his true face. And so does Rosier. While I’ve never been a big fan of Mircea, his manipulations never cease, I now find Rosier to be much more likable.
The character development and writing in this series is top notch. Karen Chance never disappoints and always leaves you wanting more. I am so glad the next book comes out in a week because I must know what happens next!! I can not recommend this series highly enough. A must read, but start at the beginning and read in timeline order!
