At the bottom of the East River, a man is nailed to a cross. That man is art critic J. Ambrose Winston, who has written a foul review about the work of nearly every artist in New York City.



Detective Michael LeForge can take his investigation of the Winston case in several directions, but his past involvement in an unsolved murder leads him to focus on only one suspect.
