When you wish upon a rogue
Reese is all but broken. His past is eating at him and he is deeply troubled. Sophie is hiding her passion and is troubled about an up coming engagement. When they meet by accident they strike a deal that benefits them both. They had no idea how much they would change each other’s futures. Nice romance.
Wonderful Wish
When You Wish Upon a Rogue is the third book in the Debutante Diaries series. Sophie is looking for a new place for the Debutante Underground meetings when she is surprised by Henry. She is in his building. Henry carries so much grief and guilt about his brother’s death and the men he left on the battle field that he suffers from nightmares and often cannot sleep. Sophie’s mother suffers insomnia often. She gives Henry the herbal concoction that helps her mother. Henry is shocked that it works. They soon come to an agreement that he will let her use the building if she stays with him once a week and helps him sleep (risky, to say the least). Because of her betrothal (she doesn’t want to marry him, but family problems seem to make it necessary), they do not touch, become wonderful friends, develop a strong attraction, and soon fall in love (and there is touching). Is there any way to stop the betrothal and help Sophie’s family so that these two can be together?
I love Henry and Sophie. They are both smart and caring people. The other characters are wonderful. Fiona, Lily, and the ladies of the Debutante Underground are sweet and fierce. This is a charming story. There is a bit of angst, some drama, a good dose of humor, healing, and, of course, romance. There are a few surprises, happy and sad. One of the biggest is what happens in the library at the engagement ball. I like this series. I enjoyed and recommend When You Wish Upon a Rogue.

Fanciful
I found that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Its first half is fanciful, filled with inventive use of flowers, has a underworld garden, and a hero running from his demons.
Miss Sophie Kendall is practically engaged to a marquess. She helps run the Debutante Revenge and Underground, a progressive gathering and weekly advice column for women. She encounters Henry Reese :Reese" the Earl of Warshire. He's taken over the role of Earl and carries immense guilt from leaving the army and the ensuing death of his company. So, he can't sleep. The only cure for his insomnia is, well, Sophie (I'm not sure if that's a selling point as to why a man wants to spend time with a lady, but in this case, it works)..
Reese is the hero we all want, supportive, kind and caring. More importantly, not a rake. He's pretty dreamy.
Reese and Sophie spend one night a week together and that grows their intimacy (the flowers, remember?).
The second half of the book deals with her impending engagement she feels she must fulfill and the secret society.
Recommend.
