The Answerers

The Answerers asks the question, "What could a young girl living in prehistoric Egypt and a middle-aged woman living in modern-day Memphis, Tennessee possibly have in common?" As it turns out, plenty: including a personal relationship with a living pantheon of dispossessed gods; a disabled veteran with a mythic past; an ancient necklace bejeweled with embryonic baubles; a biologically improbable statue of a fertility goddess; an urbane, extraterrestrial lizard hell-bent on reclaiming the world for his saurian ancestors; the Egyptian incarnation of Satan; a gabby cat; immortality; presidential politics; prospective careers as warm-blooded Eves in a cold-blooded Eden and last, but far from least--The Answerers, creepy artifacts whose even creepier contents might well send mankind and his fellow mammals down a shortcut to extinction.
