There it was again, that touch!

Her eyes opened wide, but she was in such a torpor she could not move. She could look only into the eyes of "Dr." Josh, a gentle man who was trying so hard to make her feel better, and succeeding. His eyes were bright and fixed on hers. The gentle touch again, and again, only firmer now...

"Please," Lillie protested. She lifted a languid arm. She was supposed to say, "Don't do that," but she did not have the strength or the desire.

The touch became even firmer, and she gasped, closed her eyes...
