Another Great Hurley Brothers One!
How I loved this book! I have been looking forward to the story of Vaughn and Kelly, and was so glad to finally read it! I was a little worried that the things Vaughn had done in the past would keep me from really liking him as a main character, but I'm so glad to be able to say I was wrong. He had definitely made some huge mistakes and showed terrible judgement in the past, but as was pointed out in the book several times, he was acting like an immature boy and not the man he later became. I was glad that he stepped up and took complete responsibility for all the wrong things he had done. I loved getting to know more about Kelly and to see her as a loving mother and competent business woman. The story of Vaughn regaining her trust was a great one!
Kelly and Vaughn have been divorced for eight years, and she has felt very bitter that he didn't want to be married to her. She has moved on and is now engaged to another man. Vaughn has known for years what he gave up as an immature young man, and while he has regretted it, he truly becomes terrified that he has lost if forever upon Kelly's engagement. When daughter Maddie has to have emergency surgery to remove her appendix, Vaughn takes the opportunity to let Kelly know he wants to be there for his ex-wife and daughters, and do all he can to help during the recovery. Although she doesn't trust him to be there for her, Kelly welcomes Vaughn's presence and his help with their daughters. Soon, her engagement is over and she has to decide whether she is willing to take a tremendous risk on Vaughn again.
The Hurley Boys is a great series! I completely loved all three books, and enjoyed every second spent reading them! I am absolutely certain that I'll be reading these books again! Back to You was wonderful, with characters I could really relate to, an interesting storyline, and the intriguing backdrop of the life of a family of rock stars. I highly recommend this one to lovers of contemporary romance!
