Really an Incredible Accomplishment, That You Can Do Too!

After months in the gym, this book’s routine and Joe's philosophy has transformed my body in under a week. Four months ago I felt too skinny and week. I was the definition of skinny fat without a toned muscle in my body. While I was just turning 30, I didn’t really have the body and strength of what I envisioned I’d have as a man my age. I joined a cheap gym close to my house, and so began my body transformation. I read up on Men’s Health fitness articles and bought that huge book of excersices. I threw myself into the gym three to 4 days a week and after 21 days, this new schedule not only became easier for me but my body actually wanted to go, I was excited to go.

Three months into it, I was stronger but I was not bigger or more defined mostly because I was fumbling around not knowing much about muscle groups and circuit training with correct reps, etc. But I was in there working, getting a start to it. I knew that if my body hadn’t changed yet, my determination and willpower was strong to continue.

I left the cheap gym because it wasn’t inspiring me. Most of the people there were like me fumbling around or "super crazy roided out lift as much as you possibly can while blowing all your veins" kind of people. I joined a gym a little further from my house but with another location very close to my office, so I had flexible options. With my new membership I got several 1 hour one-on-one personal training sessions with an excellent trainer who taught me great form and educated me on how to use the machines, removed the fear of using the larger equipment usually stacked with huge weights and shared effective stretching techniques. I can not stress enough how much that helped me gain confidence and I had someone there keeping me accountable so I could not say, “ok I almost did that” - he pushed me through and I actually did the work properly.

I saw immediate results from those few weeks of training, more than I ever did over the three months I started.

Now after that rediculously long set up, I’m getting to this book. This book would have saved me my first three months and I would have gone further in the few weeks with a trainer if Joe released this earlier! I STRONGLY reccommend you read this book, then take the routine to the gym you will frequent and pay for at least one personal training session, walking you through each of the excersises to: A) educate yourself with proper form, B) build confidence in using equipment you’ve been avoiding or never saw before, C) ask questions and determine the right weight for what you want to achieve.

With the long set up and the disclaimer done, I just love this book. Joe’s philosophy of changing your body to become a better person all around is wonderful. The more respect you have for yourself in your physical ability (with or without having huge muscles), the more you will respect your diet, your health, and your relationships in life, business and beyond. Another strong point he discusses is the word “potential” and how much he dislikes the work and our misplaced affinity to it. Potential is just that, what’s possible, what could be, the idea of it. Compared to actually achieving it, having it, owning it - the potential is realized. Such a strong idea. Being less of someone who “has potential” and more of someone who “has achieved” is applicable to EVERYTHING.

I don’t like overwhelming philosophies that shove ideas in your head. His language and writing style is pretty simple and not at all fancy. There is no real eloquence or entertainment in his writing for this purpose - its just basic personal experience, making it just relatable enough so you can put the book down and get to work.

You can read through it in two days, study the workouts in advance and when you’re ready to begin, prep your workout the night before bed. In the morning, focus on one circuit at a time. Take it day by day and its truly a rewarding experience. Withing just a week I notice bigger yet LEAN gains, a lot more focus and much stronger determination to finish each workout, pushing myself to further test what I thought was possible… really breaking past that wall of potential and actually achieving what I wanted when I began.

In closing, Joe deserves a huge congrats because he just solidified his expertise in this genre while gaining a new and solid audience. I’m definitely looking forward to his continued Evolution and will look for future programs and books he’ll publish.
