To get inside, he signs on at the club as a bouncer, but swiftly realizes the mission won't be as easy as he thought, because Jules Lawson, a sexy waitress there seems determined to get in the way of his investigation. That puts her at the top of his list of suspects, but after watching her more closely, he recognizes the moves of a trained operator gathering information. But who does she work for? Friend or foe?
His answer comes when things go south at the club and Jules saves his life, but then they are on the run together. When they stop to compare notes, they discover a much darker plot is underway at that club, one that might take out the entire east coast if the jihadis aren't stopped.
But considering the self-serving reason Jules discloses for joining the FBI and taking on this assignment, can Keegan trust her to have his six and finish the mission? Or when she finds the answers she seeks, will she go rogue to exact her own revenge?
Each book in this multi-author branded series is a standalone novel and the series does not have to be read in order.

I found myself holding my breath because of the strong attraction these two had for each other as well as all the excitement. There won’t be a dull moment with these two around.

Keegan, a retired SEAL, is working at his uncle's bike shop when he gets a call. He's recruited by a "secret" CIA black ops group and is assigned an undercover, solo mission at the Lily Pad. The government believes that's where secrets are being sold to the highest bidder. Since being discharged due to a shoulder injury, Keegan feels useless and wants to do something that matters. So he jumps on the offer.
Jules, an undercover agent, has one agenda. She's made it her life's mission to avenge the deaths of her family who perished directly and indirectly at the hands of 9-11 terrorists. Jules trained hard, worked a desk job, and was finally assigned a job that can help her accomplish her goals. What she doesn't need is a distraction like Keegan.
Ultimately, they realize they are working towards the same goal so they decide to collaborate to apprehend the terrorists. Working together leads to shared losses, dreams, and secrets. They soon realize they may not be able to walk away once the mission is over.
Becky McGraw writes romantic suspense effortlessly. The novel was action packed, had "feels", and kept me on the edge of my seat. I wasn't able to put it down once I started reading. Keegan and Jules were a joy. I loved Keegan's aunt and uncle too! A truly enjoyable read. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
