I love this book!
What a great read! Great author, and great story. Mr. Blundell is such an inspiration to me personally. I have been a big fan of his for years. This book yet again displays Jonathan's ability to inspire people towards a more genuine faith. Down load the book, it's only .99 cents and it sure to inspire you as well.
Story is Good but...
The story itself is good but the book has numerous typos, grammatical errors, and could use much improvement. The characters could be developed quite a bit more. We need to be let into their thoughts more. Sometimes things just didn't flow very well. Some of the transitions were awkward. I felt like the story was slow in some areas and moved too quickly in others. Jimmy came across as a hard, quiet person but then all of a sudden he's doing things out of nature and I was left somewhat confused...I felt that that part of the story needed more development. It was like the author wanted the character to hurry up and get to a certain point in the plot. I also disliked the use of The Message translation. I understand it fits the whole "untraditional Christian" vibe but it is a poor translation. The best translations are ones that are translated from the original texts. Those are my critiques but as for the story (and the message) itself I thought it was good. I especially liked the parts with Jimmy and his mom. I shed a few tears while reading that. So, despite my critiques, I did enjoyed the story.
