Description
In the war against vampires, mankind has only one hope: The Dark-Hunters. Ancient warriors who died of brutal betrayal, the Dark-Hunters have sworn themselves into the service of the goddess Artemis to protect us.
It’s a pact with pretty good perks. Immortality, power, psychic abilities, wealth and a cool wardrobe. But it comes with a few drawbacks: fatal sun poisoning and a new, irreparable dental problem. But aside from the fangs and nocturnal lifestyle, it’s not so bad. Until Kyrian meets the most frightening thing imaginable. An accountant who’s being hunted by one of the most lethal vampires out there. If Amanda Devereaux goes down, so does he and no offense, he doesn’t want to die (hence the whole immortality thing). And he doesn’t want humanity dead either which is a good thing for us since he and Amanda are all that stands between us and oblivion. Let’s hope they win. From the wild imagination of Sherrilyn Kenyon comes the humorous and suspenseful manga debut of the #1 internationally bestselling Dark-Hunter series. The world of manga will never be the same again.Customer Reviews
Where is the rest of the book?
I have to say I was so excited about dark hunters being made into a manga that I could hardly wait to read it. I finished the night I bought it, and with great disappointment. The book itself was not the disappointment, it was beautifully illustrated, leaving in some nice sexy moments that need to be entailed into a romance based story. The moments of humor that were some of the best parts of Kyrian and Amanda's story were appropriately in place as well.
However I was so shocked to find after finishing the end that I did not have the end of the story. I mean ok fine if you are working in the comic book style and wish to expand the story into volumes, that is perfectly alright. Here is the big BUT, you should give some clue to your buying audience that this is just part of the larger story, and/or have the already made next volume(s) available to purchase in the same media format. Not only was I upset to pay a similar price as the whole book of Amanda's story for half in the Manga, which I could have got over if the other volumes had been readily available to me, but they also have been made in the print format already.
This is one thing that has as a whole not made me happy switching to the digital version of reading. Is not one of the big pluses of owning a Digtal reader suppose to be one of convenience and instant gratification?
I really hope this changes soon before I become disenchanted with Digtal reading, I mean it was hard enough for me to leave behind the feel of turning crisp pages at my fingers and the smell of a good old fashioned book. I don't get a discount for digital, it is a colder feel then print books, and the supposed convenience that sold it to me is clearly lacking.
Signing off on this one disappointed.
