PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
"A robot is made of so many parts," begins this modest board book with movable components. Each spread focuses on a specific feature of a humble red robot that looks very DIY. The robot has "one mouth" and "a pair of eyes," all fashioned from cardboard gears that rotate, and two forklike arms, one of which swings in a circle. But "a robot is more than just a pile of parts," Brown writes, and a final spread reveals a gently tarnished blue heart, with rotating cogs like the inside of a mechanical clock. It's an elegantly simple design with care paid to every detail. Ages 3 up.
Customer Reviews
Robot book
Neat book but too short for the price. My son enjoys it.
Not worth the price
It's far to short for the price and the parts are difficult to move. With a swipe of a finger on bolts they disappear and do nothing. The two finger movements are unfamiliar to my 3 year old.
Great Interactive eBook
I bought this book for my kiddos to enjoy on our Ipad 2. So fun! Charming illustrations and a cute little story. The interactive parts throughout the book (turning the screws, moving the gears, etc.) are all so fun for the kids. I even enjoyed moving the pieces! There are great robot-y sounds throughout and a friendly voice that reads you the story. My kids can sit with this book for quite a while. They love it!
