Publisher Description

A Vindication of the Rights of Woman is a treatise on overcoming the ways in which women in her time are oppressed and denied their potential in society, with concomitant problems for their households and society as a whole. The dedication is to Charles M. Talleyrand-Périgord, the late bishop of Autun whose views on female education were distasteful to Wollstonecraft. The introduction sets out her view that neglect of girls’ education is largely to blame for the condition of adult women.

Masterpiece

Not only a legitimate summation of the best in Feminism— in which all parties are held accountable— but also a stark reality in what happens when Man’s vanity is allowed to suppress education to people. Wollstonecraft artfully displays a scornful review of societies flawed passion in the sexes, or rather it’s lack of compassion, nay that of friendship! A compelling read to anyone willing to let down their guard on a sterilized and nuclear, modern conversation. And keep in mind, Wollstonecraft knew the Western Tradition much better than you.
