The Citizens United Case: Corporate Speech and the Future of Democracy On 3/2/10, the Center On Poverty, Work and Opportunity presented a discussion with Brenda Wright and Gene Nichol of the US Supreme Court's recent Citizens United v. FEC case, which opened the door to corporations buying political ads before an election. Brenda Wright is the director of the Democracy Program at Demos, a national public policy research and advocacy organization, and an expert on voting rights and campaign finance reform. Gene Nichol is a professor and constitutional law scholar at the UNC School of Law.
