Description
It's not enough to simply fill students' brains with facts. A successful education demands that their character be developed as well. That's where social and emotional learning comes in. SEL is the process of helping students develop the skills to manage their emotions, resolve conflict nonviolently, and make responsible decisions. Although family, community, and society are significant factors in fostering emotional intelligence and character development, educators must create a safe, supportive learning environment and integrate SEL into the curriculum.

I was looking for a way to download the Edutopia video "The New PE Runs on Fitness, Not Competition," and noticed the download link, which took me to this diverse and thoughtful collection assembled by Edutopia and iTunes. I just want to say THANK YOU to the George Lucas Foundation and Apple for supporting this kind of web-based resource for teachers (and administrators). It may be free, but it's also invaluable to those of us who want to stay current and improve the what and the how of our teaching.
I will be back to review and view the other 32 posted videos, and to look for others. Please expand the collection!

I'm not a teacher just a loving parent who knows of bullying in our schools! I loved your videos and your positive reconstruction! This would make a huge difference in our school I think if it was an option. I plan to tell everyone I know about this app if they have a child or if they are affiliated with a school in any way! So thanks again for your positive teaching!
