Plot Summary

The newest "mockumentary" from the inimitable Christopher Guest ("Best In Show," "This Is Spinal Tap") hilariously captures the reunion of 1960s folk musicians in New York, with a stellar ensemble cast whose hilarious improvisational comedy is as inspired as ever. Also starring Eugene Levy ("Bringing Down the House," the "American Pie" movies), Harry Shearer (TV's "The Simpsons," "This Is Spinal Tap"), Michael McKean ("Auto Focus," "Best in Show"), Parker Posey ("Superman Returns," "Best in Show"), Catherine O'Hara ("Home Alone," "Beetlejuice") and Fred Willard ("Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle").

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: It's just about as terrific as Guest's previous two wingdings, Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show. – Peter Rainer, New York Magazine, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: You don't leave A Mighty Wind laughing so much as humming. Its dialogue may be improvised, but its music is well rehearsed. – Bruce Westbrook, Houston Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: The most mature, heartfelt and keenly observed film of Team Guffman. – Roger Moore, Orlando Sentinel, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: While Guest never forgets to laugh, he never forgets to love either, embracing the very subject he is simultaneously throttling. – Tom Long, Detroit News, Jun 24, 2010

Oh so funny

What a Movie. There is not a dull moment from start to finish. You almost get the impression that the folk music scene is as depicted in this movie. The jokes are funny, the characters are skillfully developed, and the script is excellent. I highly recommend it.
