This is a truly inspiring film
This is a terrifically inspiring film — an incredibly powerful story about people who are simultaneously average and amazing. The film reminds us that we all have the capacity to make a difference in the world, a significant difference. It is worth noting that this film will be particularly resonant for Jewish viewers — Hilde Back (the Swedish schoolteacher who sponsored the education of the Kenyan student, Chris) is a Holocaust survivor and refugee. This aspect of the story is handled wonderfully and woven into the film's broader theme. This is also an excellent film for parents to watch with their older teens (I would say 16 and up; or maybe 13 and up if you can preview it and then fast forward thru two brief sections which depict the violent and volatile situation in Kenya at the time the film was shot). Bravo! Also, the film has just recently been nominated for a 2011 Emmy Award for Best Documentary!
Very Moving
