Fresh: While cynics may find it twee, Mendes fans should greatly enjoy this (gently) surprising change of direction. Go in with the right frame of mind and you'll leave with a big, goofy grin on your face.
Rotten: That every supporting character is depicted as insufferable or pitiable or both would be bad enough; what's worse is that the couple discover nothing about themselves that wasn't obvious from the opening.
Fresh: Parenthood, relationships and belonging are the themes of this occasionally endearing road movie on which acclaimed director Sam Mendes puts his stamp.
Fresh: It's the sincerity of the performances by Krasinski and Rudolph that makes you want to see how the journey will end for the couple they play.

One Beautiful Love Story...
This movie is one of my favorite films of all time. I love all Sam Mendes films but this one made me leave the theatre with a huge imoression on me. I loved how the love story was actually realistic and not glamorized or ridiculous like most movies these days. The witty and romantic script was so well done, and I was brought to tears at the end and I rarely cry in cinema. I reccomend this to any indie movie lover, or anyone looking for an amazing movie to watch!
simple, perfect
This movie is gentle, funny, kind, warm...all things that you might think would be synonymous with slow and boring. Not the case. Not at all. The story will grab you from the first scene. It's rare to see a movie about people who genuinely love each other, where the drama isn't coming from wanting to find something with somebody else, but rather about trying to create something new together, about being a cozy knitted team in a complicated world. This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long, long time. Watch it. You'll be better for it.
normal but not slow
Not sure what it is about this flick. No car chases, no gratuitous hotties, no flash. Completely normal.... but the pace is there... the story moves along without any drag. The main characters are adorable, maybe that's what's so great? If you're more of a James Bond, Ocean's Eleven, Terminator type... then maybe not for you.... although I love me some Bond and Ocean's Eleven.... Anyway, it's a beautiful and entertaining film and I don't know why.
