Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Boiler Room reflects the sensibility of the generation it holds up to critical scrutiny, and it's a cunningly ambiguous act of self-portraiture.
Fresh: A fast and funny look at a world where 'greed is good' has become the only reality in town.
Rotten: The movie draws from the works that preceded it, then takes to the street with a too-cool hip-hop strut.
Fresh: In moviemaking, as in cold-calling, sometimes conviction is almost enough.
Customer Reviews
Awful, rent "Wall Street" instead
This movie was a major disappointment. While I'd normally avoid anything with Vin Diesel in it, this got a 67% on the tomatometer, so I thought I'd give it a chance. If you know anything about investing, this will be unwatchable. If you don't know anything about investing, and like Vin Diesel movies, then it might be up your alley. Giovanni ribisi does a reasonable job trying to infuse such a lousy script with a performance. The concept could have made a decent film, but the execution was very poor. There is a good reason you've never heard of the director and screenwriter, Ben Younger. Be thankful for that, and avoid this.
Boiler Room
I've been waiting a long time for this one. With the Wall Street bail-outs and the Bernie Madoffs of this world, this awesome flick is more timely than ever ten years out. Plus Vin Diesel is a convincing enough Guido to appear on "Jersey Shore"! Do not pass on this one.
Trailer says all
Boring, everything in the moving is shown in the trailer. The story line is slow and predictive. This movie is not worth your money!
