Plot Summary
On November 29, 2002, one year after the passing of George Harrison, Olivia Harrison and longtime friend Eric Clapton organised a performance tribute in his honour. His closest friends gathered at London’s Royal Albert Hall to celebrate his life in the only way they knew how – by playing his music. The momentous evening featured George's songs, and music he loved, performed by a lineup that included Clapton, Jools Holland, Jeff Lynne, Paul McCartney, Monty Python, Tom Petty, Billy Preston, Ravi and Anoushka Shankar, Ringo Starr, Dhani Harrison and many more. Directed by David Leland (Wish You Were Here, HBO’s Band Of Brothers and the Traveling Wilburys video “Handle With Care”), the Grammy® Award-winning CONCERT FOR GEORGE captures stunning renditions of some of the most significant music of the 20th century, including “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” (featuring Clapton on guitar, McCartney on piano and Starr on drums), “Taxman” (performed by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) and “The Inner Light” (covered by Jeff Lynne and Anoushka Shankar). Lynne, Harrison’s longtime friend and collaborator, produced the audio elements of the concert, while Clapton oversaw the entire proceedings as Musical Director.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Unlikely to join the ranks of the great concert films, but it does provide both deep musical pleasures and a touching farewell to the former Beatle.
Fresh: It's a must-see for Beatle completists and an unexpected treat for casual fans.
Fresh: It offers a special 'something' for everyone who ever appreciated the Quiet Beatle's musical gifts and spiritual explorations.

Nice- A Tribute to a Departed Legend
For all of you that are fans of George Harrison and his music, the Concert for George is here. I think it's great that this concert is now available because anyone can buy this and see how many of George's old musician friends gathered together to play as a way of honoring the man. This has many celebrities from Eric Clapton to Billy Preston to Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and even Tom Petty. I haven't seen the concert before, but it looks like something anyone should see. It's that good because the concert movie is for anyone that wants to hear a music legend's songs performed in public a year after his death. Whether you like the Beatles or just George Harrison in his solo career, there is a variety of songs from all stages of his career being performed. You'll like the concert a lot when you start watching it.

Concert For George
Moving, bittersweet, wonderful. Depicts the greatness of a wonderful song writer, played and sung by fabulous musicians. I loved the comment "With Dhani on stage, it was like everyone aged but George!". I have to say I took a double take when I first saw this extremely talented young man appear on stage. His father must be looking down with great pride. Thank you for releasing this, it brought tears to my eyes, yet a smile to my face!
