Plot Summary

Forty years ago, Harriet Vanger disappeared from a family gathering on the island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger clan. Her body was never found, yet her beloved uncle is convinced it was murder and that the killer is a member of his own tightly knit but dysfunctional family. He employs disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist) and the tattooed and troubled but resourceful computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) to investigate. When the pair link Harriet’s disappearance to a number of grotesque murders from almost forty years ago, they begin to unravel a dark and appalling family history. But the Vanger’s are a secretive clan, and Blomkvist and Salander are about to find out just how far they are prepared to go to protect themselves.

One of 2010's best films

This film takes beloved source material and refuses to water it down, either in terms of its grittiness or epic scope. And it introduces us to Noomi Rapace who deserves the kind of international stardom that the likes of Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem have enjoyed. An American remake seems silly and redundant--this is the film the author would have liked to see celebrate his work.

So Good!!

I read all three books and I must say that I enjoyed the movie. I usually don't like the movie after I have read the book but not in this case. The actress that plays Salander was exactly the way I pictured her. She was amazing. The book of course had so much more in it while the movie couldn't depict all of it, I think they chose the parts that where the most important to the plot and to viewer to better understand the main charachter. The title of the book in Sweden was Men who Hate Women. Watch it better yet READ the 3 Books.. A MUST..

Amazing

This movie is hands down THE BEST movie I have ever seen. I read the books which were amazing as well. THe whole plot and different twists and turns make the movie so intriguing. Lisbeth Salander is one of the most interesting characters I have ever seen. Noomi Rapace does the most amazing job of capturing Lisbeth in her portrayal. Everyone should see this movie!!!!!
