Plot Summary
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stars in this gritty and inspirational movie based on a true story of a group of teenage delinquents given a second chance to redeem themselves by playing football. Sean Porter (Johnson) is a frustrated juvenile probation officer. Most of the kids in his detention camp are either sent back to prison once they leave or meet a violent end when they return to the streets. Desperately looking for a way to make a difference, he and his co-worker Malcolm Moore (Xzibit, TV's "Pimp My Ride") devise a plan to teach discipline and responsibility through the game of football. But with only four weeks before the start of the season, Porter must overcome insurmountable odds to put together a competitive team. It's a season that will test their minds, spirit, and bodies as Porter teaches his players the principles of good character, strength through resiliency, and genuine respect for one another.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: ... the movie's good intentions are consistently undermined by its simplistic notion of redemption, and its inspirational thrust is diluted by an epilogue that suggests the program still has a ways to go in the life-altering department.
Fresh: Gridiron entertains and makes a powerful point about the faults inherent in the penal system, particularly for youths with hopes of rehabilitation.
Fresh: Auds will respond, either to the uplifting message and the solid action sequences.
Rotten: The Rock commits himself admirably to this trite tale, but by the end, even his enormous shoulders buckle under the weight of so many cliches.

A move that will truly move you.
I have nothing much to say other than brilliant. This was one movie I truly believed in, and The Rock played his role very, very well indeed. This is a must see for anyone who is troubled and in need of inspiration.
WOW
If you just look at the previews you can already tell that this is a good movie. It's shows what you can become if you put your mind to it. Ha Ha Ha i'm sounding just like my teacher.
Great
This was a great movie it really makes you relize people do care. It also shows you how crappy football teams are I mean come people from gangs want to kill each other and they somehow come together and make a sweet football team.
