Plot Summary
Get ready for a gut-busting, outrageous comedy from the guys that created Shaun of the Dead. Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) is a big-city cop who can't be stopped - but he's making everyone else on the force look bad. When he is reassigned to a small, quiet town, he struggles with this new, seemingly idyllic world and his bumbling partner (Nick Frost). But their dull existence is interrupted by several grisly and suspicious accidents, and the crime-fighting duo turn up the heat and hand out high-octane, car-chasing, gun-fighting, big-city justice in this hilarious hit critics are calling "Outrageous! Uproariously Funny!" (Thelma Adams, US Weekly).

Fresh: Wright and Pegg have topped Shaun of the Dead by trans(atlantic)planting a whole gaggle of genres.
Fresh: Though it's no Monty Python, Hot Fuzz is a clever, over-the-top marriage of mayhem and merriment.
Fresh: Summer hasn't arrived, but the funniest riff on a summer movie genre has already landed.
Fresh: The movie duly quickens into pursuits of every speed, and the homage to action thrillers is there in the smallest detail; the clicking of a ballpoint pen, say, is amplified to sound as menacing as the cocking of a gun.

A Quirky Romp of a Film With More To It Than First Meets the Eye...
If you like anything about British cinema -- particularly with respect to comedies -- then this film will almost certainly 'float your boat.' From the ample supply of dry wit and sarcasm to the more subtle touches of social satire, the movie relishes in its own 'British-ness.' This fine fare is further fleshed out via an eclectic mix of special effects and site gags with a splash of well-done gore tossed in here-and-there to ensure things stay lively. And 'lively' things indeed stay as none of this film's 120 moments is dull. Perfomances by Pegg,. Frost, and (Timothy) Dalton were spot-on, making this a suprisingly good movie. I strive to save five-star ratings for works that are exceptional - as such, I have given this film four stars. However, that is only due to bias in my personal rating system and I don't begrudge "Hot Fuzz" any of its thirty-five-plus five-star ratings.

...and advanced cycling.
This is the single greatest slapstick/action-comedy/adrenaline-fueled-thriller to come out of the UK. Ever. Starts a little slow, but that only makes the climax so much sweeter. Ride this train, you won't be disappointed. The characters are loveable, tangible, and downright hysterical. The dialogue is witty and, of course, hysterical. The transitions between shots are clever, and I promise you won't see the end coming.
